With an annually increasing defense budget, Ukraine’s spending on security and defence has climbed to nearly 6% of gross domestic product in 2021. Exports amounted over $500 million and is expected to rise.

Ukraine’s state-owned enterprise, Ukroboronprom is undergoing corporatization. In 2020 over 54% of Ukraine’s state defense order was filled by Ukraine’s private military corporations.
